Dear Partners,                                                                           January 24, 2014

Happy Chinese New Year!  June 2014 will be the 15th anniversary of Pacific Rim Foundation.  For the last 15 years we have set our foot firmly in China.  Thank you for your faithful partnership, your prayer and your support.  We still remember the first educational project in Xi’an of the Shanxi Province as China called the “Project of Hope”.  We donated new furniture such as new desks and chairs, new basketball goal boards and reams for a Hui Minority school in Xi’an.  15 years ago, it was just the beginning of China’s modernization and reformation of its new economy.  Everywhere in China were still poor and lack of resources.  Our donation to this“Project of Hope" brought new light into the Hui community in Xi’an.

The second project was the formation of the Quality of Life Factory Association in Hong Kong in the year 2000.  With a group of dedicated factory owners in Hong Kong, we had successfully launched out a series of recreational and educational programs among the migrant factory workers and staff in southern China.  Most of our territories were inclusive of Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Huizhou and Guangzhou. In 2002, a network of 20 factories were recruited in Quality of Life including manufacturers of toys, printing products, packaging, electronics, telephones, computers, medical equipment, household accessories, clothing and gifts.  As a business platform, we had also introduced the Walmart and Procter & Gamble buyers into this Association.  In 2006, more than 30 factories were recruited into this network.  Most of these factories are located in the Guangdong Province.  Later, the Foundation also introduced medical projects, arts and music programs, leadership and management training into the Quality of Life Association.  Now, 13 year has gone by and we are still standing against the winds and storms of the financial crisis that have crippled and shut down some of these factories in the network.

In 2001 in Guangzhou, a leadership school called MBS was organized to train leaders to work with these migrant workers. We have successfully trained over 100 trainees so far. Currently in Shenzhen, we are networking with the BBG (Business Benefit Group) and other business owners to launch out our Leadership Training Program and CEO Leadership Club.

In 2014, the Leadership School becomes the Pac Rim Leadership Institute in which we will launch out a series of national leaders training program among the major cities of China: inclusive of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Ningbo, Wuxi, Suzhou and the North East areas.

In reviewing our past history, we are grateful that you have partnered with us and together we walked down this path for this far.

We do have hope for you and for us in the future as Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, said Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give a future and a hope in the end.”

Best Regards,
